Norwich & Peterborough
The Norwich and Peterborough Building Society has a very positive attitude towards both self-build and green-build. They are offering a £5,000 prize to what they consider the best example of an eco-house in the UK and they do a special green mortgage for new houses which reach a Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) rating of 100 or higher and also for existing property that is being made more energy efficient. They will plant 40 trees for every customer who takes out a ‘Green mortgage‘.
